Women in Construction Week: Together we rise

Women in Construction Week: Together we rise

TORONTO – Since 1998 the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) has been commemorating WIC Week™, or Women in Construction Week™, by celebrating the successes of women in the sector, while furthering the cause to get more involved in the industry.

The week kicked off yesterday (March 2) and will run until March 8. This year’s theme, “Together we Rise,” celebrates the strength and knowledge of women and the critical role they play in shaping the future of construction.

Construction firms of all sizes and types are encouraged to participate in WIC Week and show their support for women employees.

All year long, the Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce have the privilege of getting a firsthand look at the efforts being made by women in the industry by telling their stories.

Whether it’s more funding for supports like proper fitting PPE or a children’s book for young girls, we are fortunate to feature it all, while still understanding there is work to be done.

During the entire month of March in our Women in Construction feature we will be showcasing various women and their personal journeys to success.

Watch for more on our websites and help us celebrate these trailblazers.
