Inquest called into death of Timothy Thompson

KINGSTON, ONT. — Dr. Paul Dungey, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, announced on May 27 that an inquest will be held into the death of Timothy John Thompson.

Thompson, 58, died at the Kingston General Hospital on July 1, 2014, from complications of injuries sustained in a fall on June 25, 2014, at a construction site in Amherstview, Ont. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Thompson’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available. Dr. Bob Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner and Holly Chiavetti will be counsel to the coroner.
