HAMILTON, ONT. — The National Committee for Safety and Health Week has announced programming and special events for Safety and Health Week.
The awareness week begins May 6 with the Safety and Health Week 2024 National Launch and concludes May 11.
The national partners are the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), Threads of Life and Health and Safety Professionals Canada (HSPC).
Event listings across Canada can be found on the Safety and Health Week website.
The launch, from 11 a.m. to noon EDT, features CCOHS CEO Anne Tennier and Threads of Life executive director with Shirley Hickman. Other guests scheduled are federal Minister of Labour and Seniors Seamus O’Regan and Threads of Life speaker Brenda Duhaime, who lost a family member due to a workplace-related tragedy.
“Our hope is that workplaces and communities use Safety and Health Week as an opportunity to recommit to health and safety, create awareness, and promote injury and illness prevention practices,” stated Tennier.
