Live from Las Vegas…it’s The Construction Record

Live from Las Vegas…it’s The Construction Record

TORONTO — Canada’s top construction industry podcast, The Construction Record, is taking to the airwaves at CONEXPO-CON/AGG from March 10 to 14 in Las Vegas, Nev.

“CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the Super Bowl of construction industry trade shows and we are honoured to be a supporting podcast of the show,” said Vince Versace, DCN-JOC national managing editor and one of the podcast’s co-hosts. “We look forward to finding the stories behind the construction stories which drive this industry.”

The Construction Record is the bi-weekly, award winning, national construction news podcast for ConstructConnect’s DCN (Daily Commercial News) and JOC (Journal of Commerce) publications. The podcast has been ranked in the top 10 construction podcasts on the web by Feedspot and it finished second in Construction Junkie’s North American best podcast competition last year.

The podcast is available via iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, YouTube and the DCN and JOC websites, under the podcast tab, at www.dcnonl.com and www.joconl.com.

Both Versace and Warren Frey, DCN-JOC digital media editor and the podcast’s primary co-host, will be on the ground in Las Vegas for the duration of the show.

“We have already lined up quite the slate of interviews, educational sessions and demonstrations to attend,” added Versace. “It is the first time we have ever covered CONEXPO-CON/AGG so we definitely want to make the most of our time there.”

CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the largest construction trade show in North America and is held every three years. Advance registration for this year’s show has outpaced the 2017 show and more than 130,000 people are expected to attend. Show organizers state this year’s show could become one of the largest in its history.

In light of concerns about COVID-19 the show is encouraging a “No Handshake” policy onsite. Organizers have arranged for “No Handshake” buttons and stickers to be distributed at the show. In addition, large signage will be visible throughout the show which outline best practices and guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control.

“We know how much a solid handshake can mean to engender trust and bonding between two people discussing major business decisions,” said Dana Wuesthoff, CONEXPO-CON/AGG show director in a statement. “But in the interest of keeping everyone as healthy as possible, we want to impress upon everyone that it’s okay to replace that custom with something as simple as a thumbs-up, a wave, a fist or elbow bump, or even the exchange of mobile phone numbers.”
