Product Description

ALUCOBOND® COMPOSITE BUILDING PANELS

Alucobond is an aluminum composite material made of two strong sheets of 0.5mm (0.02") aluminum bonded to a low-density proprietary polyethylene core. Produced in 3mm (0.12"), 4mm (0.16") and 6mm (0.23") thicknesses in a continuous process without glues and adhesives. Durable and versatile. Offers design flexibility with architectural appeal. Alucobond is also available in a brushed aluminum finish.

Applications

•Architectural exterior curtainwall panels for low-rise and high-rise buildings. (Specify Alucobond 21 material for non-combustible construction).

•Building interior wall covering.

•Column covers.

•Architectural exterior and interior signage.

•Sound attenuation.

•Soffit and fascia panels.

•Building accent trim (exterior building material colour accents around windows, entrances and exits, etc).

•Canopies.

•Glazing panels.

Features, Advantages

•As rigid as an aluminum sheet nearly twice the weight. Flat Alucobond material bends only where needed for specific design requirements. No oil-canning.

•Impact resistant.

•Superior corrosion resistance and weatherability. No checking, crazing, adhesion loss, loss of gloss or colour change due to temperature fluctuations.

•Can be bent, cut, drilled, punched, stamped and easily shaped.

•Cleaned easily with a sponge and soft alkali-free detergent in water.

Product Line

•SL-1000: Uses full-length, interconnecting perimeter extrusions that reinforce the panel flanges and provide self-alignment of panels. Seals the building by use of silicone sealant.

•SL-2000: This dry-joint system is a rainscreen and flexible joint design. The ACM joint filler allows variance in colour and joint size.

•SL-3000: A high performance, dry-joint system using an extruded horizontal and vertical guttering system. Joint seal is accomplished by the use of neoprene gaskets placed within perimeter extrusions. SL-4000: This dry joint reveal snap system uses a rainscreen, pressure-equalized system, which allows individual panels to be removed for easy replacement.

Finishes

Alucobond is available in standard and custom colour Kynar® paint finishes. Also available in a full range of anodized finishes.

Applicable Standards

Alucobond Plus material meets 1995 NBC standards for non-combustible construction. Offers the same qualities as the original Alucobond material. Available in a 4mm (0.16") thickness.
