Infrastructure Ontario has identified the three teams pre-qualified to bid on a construction project at Humber College in the former city of Etobicoke, in northwestern Toronto. EllisDon Corp., SNC Lavalin Group Inc. and PCL Contractors Canada Inc. are the construction contractors on the teams.
IO plans to release a request for proposals later in June.
The contract will be to design, build and finance the Learning Resource Commons at the Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, located on the school’s north campus near Finch Avenue and Highway 27, north of the Woodbine race track and northeast of Lester B. Pearson International Airport.
Integrated Team Solutions includes Canon Design and EllisDon Corp., which will be both the constructor and financial advisor.
The team led by PCL Contractors Canada Inc. will include B+H Architects, plus TD Securities as financial advisor.
The SNC Lavalin Capital team will include KPMB and architectsAlliance in a joint venture.
The building will become the new main entrance of Humber College’s North Campus and will help accommodate more than 2,200 new students, IO stated in a press release June 6.
It will include independent study space, an expanded library and a student gallery.
