Work progresses on the renovations to the Hoffmann-LaRoche Canada Relocation building at 7070 Mississauga Rd. in Mississauga, Ont.
General Contractor MARANT Construction Ltd. began the work in September 2012 and it includes a major interior renovation of a 244,000-square-foot, stand-alone building designed on achieving energy efficiencies that included a complete retrofit of the buildings’ HVAC system using new roof top ammonia chillers to satisfy the tenant’s environmental policy and standards.
The interior concept which includes a three-storey atrium space, is highly innovative and includes three multi-functional interconnecting staircases, renovations of a full service cafeteria and exterior landscaping.
The internal project manager is Genentech Inc. – A Member of the Roche Group, San Francisco, CA and MHPM Project Managers Ltd. is project manager.
The project was designed by Perkins + Will and completion is scheduled September 2013.
Consultants are: Entuitive Corporation (structural consultant) and Smith + Andersen Consulting Engineering, Inc. (mechanical/electrical).
