TORONTO—Toronto’s Capstone Infrastructure Corporation recently announced progress on several Ontario wind farm projects.
First, Capstone reports that its 10-megawatt Grey Highlands wind farm was commissioned on Feb. 20. The project is located near the communities of McIntyre, Maxwell, and Hatherton, Ont. near Collingwood. The 18-megawatt Ganaraska facility is expected to be commissioned next, in the second quarter of this year. It will be located in the town of Orono, east of Toronto. Also on deck is the Snowy Ridge Wind Park, a 10-megawatt wind energy project to be located in the City of Kawartha Lakes near the community of Bethany.
Coming soon, the proposed Setters Landing Wind Park farm is a 10-megawatt wind energy project also located in the City of Kawartha Lakes, near the town of Pontypool.
Elsewhere, the 10-megawatt Riverhurst wind project, located southwest of Riverhurst, Sask., has been awarded a 20-year power purchase agreement with SaskPower pursuant to the SaskPower Green Options Partners Program. The Riverhurst project is anticipated to consist of five wind turbines.
Capstone currently has investments in utilities in Europe and owns, operates and develops thermal and renewable power generation facilities in Canada with a total installed capacity of 473 megawatts.
