Work is progressing on the Casey House Hospice redevelopment in Toronto.

Bird Construction Group has been contracted to build and finance the 58,000-square-foot facility that will accommodate 14 private in-patient beds, including two respite beds, office space for home care programs, therapy rooms and community space for a day health program and new spaces for administrative and support services. The new facility will provide a more efficient HIV/AIDS health care by consolidating all current programs and services under one roof. The architect for the project is Hariri Pontarini Architects. The owner Casey House Hospice and ZW Project Management Inc. is the project manager. Consultants are: Entuitive Corp. (structural); ERA Architects Inc. (restoration) and MMM Group Ltd. (mechanical/electrical). Forming Ltd. (concrete forming); Mansteel Rebar Ltd.; Clifford Restoration Ltd. (restoration/masonry); Quest Steel Inc. (steel/misc. metals); Provincial Store Fixtures Ltd. (millwork); Bothwell Accurate Co. Inc. (roof/cladding/waterproofing); AGC Flat Glass North America Ltd. (curtainwall/glazing); Geo. A. Kelson Co. Ltd. (mechanical); Duplex Electrical Ltd. (electrical); Nelmar Drywall; Trillium Architectural Products Ltd. (doors/hardware) and Duron Ontario Ltd. (finishes/epoxy).
