Completion nears at the Casey House Hospice redevelopment project in Toronto.
Bird Construction Group has been contracted to build and finance the 58,000-square-foot facility that will accommodate 14 private in-patient beds, including two isolation rooms, office space for home care programs, therapy rooms and community space for a day health program and new spaces for administrative and support services. The new facility will provide more efficient HIV/AIDS health care by consolidating all current programs and services under one roof. The architect for the project is Hariri Pontarini Architects. The owner is Casey House and ZW Project Management Inc. is the project manager. Consultants are: Entuitive Corp. (structural); ERA Architects Inc. (restoration) and MMM Group Ltd. (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Clifford Restoration Ltd. (restoration/masonry); Quest Steel Inc. (steel/misc. metals); Provincial Store Fixtures Ltd. (millwork); Bothwell Accurate Co.
