THUNDER BAY, ONT.—Lakehead University recently held the grand opening of the Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering and Sciences in Thunder Bay, Ont.
The Ontario Government invested $5 million in the state-of-the-art facility, which will support research and innovation. It is expected to assist students with better equipment, training and resources and create 67 jobs.
The 42,000-square-foot facility includes new laboratories and equipment to support the university’s advanced research and training needs. It will assist students, researchers and entrepreneurs in developing and commercializing new technologies and products that could benefit natural resource industries in Northern Ontario, states a government release.
