Ottawa builder completes one-day marathon pour
CNW GROUP/EQ HOMES — The Greystone Village construction team poured the concrete foundation on River Terraces Tower II in Old Ottawa East on Nov. 2, 2019.

OTTAWA — Ottawa homebuilder eQ Homes recently announced a construction milestone at its Greystone Village community in Old Ottawa East that required a significant feat of coordination, as suppliers and subcontractors combined to pour the entire concrete foundation of The River Terraces Tower II in one day.

The River Terraces tower is the second condo tower on the site and the pour took place Nov. 2. Morley Hoppner was the contractor as it took 1,900 square metres of concrete, 225 concrete trucks, three concrete pumps, three concrete plants and 60 workers 11 hours to pull off the pour.

Greystone Village is a 26-acre LEED-ND-candidate master-planned community that will have more than 900 homes when built. The community is located amidst the existing historical buildings of the Edifice Dechatelets, which were built in 1885 by the Oblates of the Scholasticate.

“A huge thank you to the eQ Homes and Morley Hoppner team members that made the Terraces Phase 2 slab pour such a huge success,” said Josh Kardish, vice-president of eQ Homes, in a statement.
