Crescent, Stolat open new Hyatt Place Ottawa-West hotel

OTTAWA — Crescent Crescent Hotels and Resorts and Stolat Hotels have announced the opening of the new Hyatt Place Ottawa-West hotel.

The 140-room hotel has been given a Five Green Key rating from Green Key Global. It’s targeted at both business and leisure travellers and will feature free WiFi, 24-hour food service and a 24-hour fitness centre.

Other features and amenities include guest rooms with separate spaces to sleep and work, a bar and 1,200 square feet of event space.

Sustainability features include an Earth Energy system to heat and cool the hotel; 225 solar panels installed on the roof; honeybee pollinators living on the roof; a commitment to eliminate single-use plastics; and onsite EV chargers.

The hotel is located near the new Department of National Defense Headquarters in Ottawa.

The Hyatt Place Ottawa West is Stolat’s first hotel investment in Canada.

“Crescent is excited to partner with Stolat Hotels to open this unique Hyatt Place hotel in Ottawa,” said Tony Cohen, Crescent’s executive vice-president in a statement. “As an experienced Hyatt operator, Crescent will maximize upon the potential of this great hotel.”
