Minto launches 800 new homes in north Oshawa

Minto launches 800 new homes in north Oshawa
MINTO — The first phase of Minto’s Heights of Harmony community in north Oshawa will offer 20-foot townhomes and single-family homes with frontages of 36 feet and 43 feet.

OSHAWA, ONT. — Minto Communities GTA has announced the launch of a new master-planned community in north Oshawa, Ont.

The 90-acre Heights of Harmony in Oshawa’s Kedron neighbourhood will include single-family homes and townhomes. Minto stated in a recent release that the 800-home community will have price points aimed at first-time buyers, with phase one floor plans ranging from 1,992 to 3,049 square feet and prices starting in the high $700s.

Phase one will offer buyers a Net Zero Ready upgrade option, similar to Minto’s Union Village in Markham, Ont. The option is said to result in a reduction in GHG emissions of up to 85 per cent. The upgrade will include a zoned HVAC system, reducing energy use, the release stated. Additionally, as standard on all homes, roofs have been designed to accommodate future solar panels.

Green spaces will include a new 28-acre park and pathways to a neighbouring six-kilometre trail system.

Smart features will include the Minto Intelligence smart home system featuring a water leak sensor, video doorbell and outdoor camera, unique to single-family homes.

“At Minto Communities GTA, we understand that a home is one of the most important purchases families will make in their lives and that has informed our approach from conception to completion at the Heights of Harmony,” said Mike LaPlante, vice-president of land development in a statement. “We’re proud to bring more options for families, young couples, and new homebuyers in the Oshawa community at the Heights of Harmony through homes that are both competitively priced and expertly designed with Net Zero Ready upgrade options.”
