Home sales edged up in September
Statistics released today by the Canadian Real Estate Association show national home sales edged up between August and September 2021 though activity remained down year-over-year. National home sales rose 0.9 per cent on a month-over-month basis in September; actual (not seasonally adjusted) activity was down 17.5 per cent on a year-over-year basis; the number of newly listed properties declined by 1.6 per cent from August to September; and the actual (not seasonally adjusted) national average sale price posted a 13.9 per cent year-over-year gain in September.
ACEC conference set for Oct. 20
The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Canada (ACEC) is gearing up for its national leadership conference next week after taking a year off due to the pandemic. The event will be presented virtually on Oct. 20 with the theme Reimagining Our World. The closing keynote will be presented by CBC journalist Anna Maria Tremonti.
Cypress reports lithium plant milestone
Vancouver-based Cypress Development Corp. announced Wednesday that installation of the pilot plant for the company’s Clayton Valley Lithium Project in Nevada is complete. The pilot plant is located at a metallurgical facility approximately 100 miles south of the project. With assembly and operational testing of component equipment finished, test extraction of lithium from the project’s sample material will begin next week.
