Work on the balconies moves up at the Waterworks boutique condos on Richmond Street in Toronto.

The developers are MOD Developments Inc./Woodcliffe Landmark Properties and Bluescape Construction Management is the construction manager. The work includes one 13-storey, 290-suite building with a food hall and a YMCA all connecting to the city’s St. Andrews playground. The residential suites will sit atop the original heritage building and the YMCA and food hall will be in the restored portion with retail on the ground floor. An existing social services agency will remain in the next-door building. The project was designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects and consultants are: ERA Architects (heritage); Cecconi Simone (interior); Jablonsky, Ast & Partners (structural); Smith & Andersen (mechanical/electrical); and Janet Rosenberg & Studio (landscape). Major trade contractors include: Clifford Restoration; Marli Mechanical; Mapleridge Electric; Maxum Drywall; Benson Steel; Alliance Rooofing & Waterproofing; Quest Windows; and Kone Elevators.
