TORONTO — Toronto-based Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced plans for a new luxury hotel to be built in Taipei, Taiwan.
Four Seasons will be a partner of Yuan Lih Construction Co. on the project. The Four Seasons Hotel Taipei will be located in the Xinyi District, opposite the Taipei 101, one of the tallest towers in the world and a major tourist attraction, stated a release.
RSHP has been named as the designer. The proponents are targeting Taiwan Green Building Rating Gold and a minimum LEED silver.
The 31-storey hotel will feature 260 rooms. The highest floors will offer floor-to-ceiling wraparound views of the city and mountain ranges.
Dining venues will include a high-end Chinese restaurant, destination bar, specialty restaurant, all-day restaurant, pool bar and lobby lounge. Other amenities will include an executive club lounge, fitness centre with an outdoor pool and spa, meeting and event spaces including a grand ballroom and a junior ballroom, and ground level garden space.
“Taipei has long been a target destination for Four Seasons as we look to expand our presence in Asia’s most important cities,” stated Bart Carnahan, global business development president for Four Seasons, in a statement. “This project will be a destination of choice in Taipei for both locals and travellers, combining thoughtful design, world-class restaurants and bars, and of course personalized service by incredible Four Seasons people.”
