SYDNEY, N.S. — The new Centre for Discovery and Innovation (CDI) at Cape Breton University (CBU) is receiving $3.5 million in funding from the Government of Canada.
Mike Kelloway, parliamentary secretary to the minister of fisheries, oceans and the Canadian coast guard and MP for Cape Breton-Canso, recently announced the non-repayable contribution to CBU through the Canada Coal Transition Initiative – Infrastructure Fund.
The contribution will help equip science classes and laboratories at the university’s new net-zero ready CDI, states a release, adding the cutting-edge research and teaching facilities will help CBU deliver an enhanced learning experience for students while encouraging technology-based research.
