TORONTO — Site servicing renewal is underway at Ontario Place and EllisDon is onsite performing the work.
EllisDon Civil Ltd. was selected by Infrastructure Ontario through an open procurement to carry out the Ontario Place Site Servicing Renewal project.
To redevelop Ontario Place as envisioned, significant improvements are required onsite to replace and/or upgrade the existing end-of-life infrastructure, a spokesperson from IO told the Daily Commercial News. This includes designing new internal infrastructure for water, sanitary, storm, electrical, gas and telecommunication systems.
The new system will improve operations and bring the servicing up to modern standards; improve the reliability of the servicing onsite; and accommodate the requirements of the planned redevelopment of the site, the spokesperson highlighted.
WZMH Architects has also been selected as the planning, design and conformance team (PDC) for the relocation of the Ontario Science Centre.
The PDC team will develop project documents needed to proceed with the request for qualifications, conduct internal and external stakeholder consultations, assist in the pre-qualification of consortia, and prepare drawings and output specifications that will be included in the request for proposals, the spokesperson indicated.
What is the current plan for the Don Mills /Eglinton Site? Welfare housing? Deluxe condos? Office Towers? shopping complex-on-a-hill?
