Thermon upgrades plants in Oakville, Orillia

Thermon upgrades plants in Oakville, Orillia

ORILLIA, ONT. —Thermon Group Holdings has announced the modernization and expansion of facilities in Orillia and Oakville, Ont.

The Texas-based firm is active in the industrial process heating sector. The Ontario bases are located on Plymouth Drive in Oakville and Hunter Valley Road in Orillia with 350 staff combined.

The plants provide heating systems for a range of industries, including the energy, chemicals, food and beverage, rail and transit, construction and pharmaceutical sectors, among others.

Thermon redesigned the production processes and reorganized the plant layouts to upgrade manufacturing capacity and achieve efficiency gains, stated a release.

“As the industry continues to transition to carbon-neutral energy, the decision to modernize and streamline manufacturing operations is an expectation of global demand for technologies and solutions that enable electrification and further decarbonization of carbon-intensive process heating systems,” stated Mark Roberts, a senior vice-president with Thermon, in the release.  “Along with operational improvements, we are enhancing research and development by doubling the lab’s footprint and adding revolutionary testing capabilities.

“This supports our long-term goal of proactively serving customers who are embracing electrification of heating systems that help them to achieve their decarbonization goals.”
