Morguard foresees recovery in office leasing
The Canadian office leasing market displayed early signs of recovery in the second quarter of 2021, according to Morguard’s 2021 Canadian Economic Outlook and Market Fundamentals Second Quarter Update. Investment activity levels picked up between the beginning of April and the end of June, stated today’s release. Demand for sublease space increased for the first time in the past year, and a growing number of tenants removed sublease space from the market for their own needs.
ROC Modular announces new president
Calgary-based ROC Modular Inc. has announced Joe Kiss, M.Eng., P.Eng., has been named as president and CEO of the company effective immediately. Founder Tony Isaac has been acting CEO for the past 18 months and will continue as Chief Impact Officer for the firm. ROC Modular has a focus on social and affordable, hospitality, multi-family, education and industrial markets.
Vancouver Parks launches public engagement for Greenway design
The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation is requesting public consultation on new design options for the Seaside Greenway in Kitsilano Beach Park. A first round from Aug. 10 to 30 will ask park and path users, residents and businesses what they would like to see, with a second round in fall 2021 and a third round in early 2022. Those interested can fill out an online survey.
