Beedies donate $5 million to Delta Hospital campaign

DELTA, B.C. – Ryan and Cindy Beedie have donated $5 million to the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation (DHCH Foundation) in support of its “Coming Home” campaign.

The donation is the largest single gift received toward the $18.25 million campaign for a new long-term care community at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care in Delta, B.C.

Beedie is one of the largest industrial and residential real estate companies in Western Canada with Ryan Beedie as president and Cindy Beedie as executive director of the Beedie Foundation. The new 200-bed facility will be named the Beedie Long Term Care Centre in recognition of the donation.

“For Cindy and I, helping communities here in Canada and around the world has always been a part of our lives. We truly believe that giving back and sharing our success with others is a key part of being thoughtful and caring world citizens. We’ve partnered with Delta Hospital and Community Foundation on this critical long term care project to help support local seniors who really made this area what it has become today. We’ve had the pleasure of building in Delta for over 50 years, and our family is proud to be able to give back to a community that’s so important to us,” Ryan Beedie said.

The new long-term care community will replace the 92 beds at Delta Hospital’s current facility, Mountain View Manor, and will include social and recreational spaces modelled after residential areas along with a 32-space adult day program and a stand-alone 49-space child daycare facility.
