Canada’s first Hyatt Place hotel is taking shape in downtown Edmonton, Alta. The 14-storey building, called Hyatt Place Edmonton, is part of the Aum Hotel Group.
It was designed by Gene Dub of Dub Architects Ltd. and is scheduled to open in late August or September 2015. The hotel is located in the City of Edmonton’s Quarters Downtown district, where a $56 million infrastructure initiative aims to improve a previously stagnant area of the downtown core with five distinct areas structured around a pedestrian-oriented street running through the community.
