LLOYDMINSTER, ALTA. — Alberta officials have announced two school renovation projects in Lloydminster.
The border city will be upgrading Lloydminster Comprehensive High School and Holy Rosary High School.
Both schools are on the Alberta side of the city, but officials in Alberta and Saskatchewan have agreed to share the renovation costs because students from both provinces attend the schools.
Lloydminster Public School Division’s Comprehensive High School will see an addition and modernization, with an estimated cost of about $25 million. The renovation of Holy Rosary High School, which is part of the Lloydminster Roman Catholic Separate School Division, will cost about $10 million.
“This announcement is excellent news for families in Lloydminster,” said Garth Rowswell, MLA for Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright, in a statement. “Families rely on these schools, and these much-needed upgrades will help improve education in our community.”
