VANCOUVER — The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) has unveiled the design for its new amphitheatre which includes the largest free-span timber roof structure in the world.
As previously reported by the Journal of Commerce, the new amphitheatre will have max capacity for roughly 10,000 people and serve as an open-air venue for concerts, community events, esports events and more.
Construction is expected to begin in 2024 with the amphitheatre opening in 2026. It was designed by Revery Architecture.
“The crown jewel of the PNE and Hastings Park, the new PNE Amphitheatre will enable us to showcase and celebrate B.C.’s talent, diversity and enthusiasm for live events,” Shelley Frost, president and CEO of PNE, said in a news release.
