Aerospace shop opens for Manitoba technical vocational high school students
WIKIPEDIA — Winnipeg’s Technical Vocational High School (above) has completed a new aerospace shop expansion.

WINNIPEG  – A new aerospace shop at Winnipeg’s Technical Vocational High School (Tec Voc) is now complete.

The 5,000-square-foot two-storey addition and 5,800-square-foot renovation was finished in December 2023 and co-located the aerospace program with welding and machining shops, including the creation of two shared classrooms on the second floor and restoration of the former aerospace area into three academic classrooms.

Students will receive training on industry equipment, enabling graduates to meet apprenticeship standards for the level one aviation maintenance journeyperson program. The new space currently allows for 272 students in Grades 9 to 12 as well as 43 adult students to participate in the program, Altomare added.
