Whiteriver Logistics eyes $17 million expansion at CentrePort

Whiteriver Logistics eyes $17 million expansion at CentrePort

WINNIPEG – Whiteriver Logistics Inc. has acquired 16 acres of land to build a 50,000-square-foot warehouse and transportation distribution centre at CentrePort Canada in Manitoba.

The facility is located in the Rural Municipality of Rosser and is Whiteriver’s second CentrePort location with an existing operation in BrookPort Business Park.

Whiteriver initially invested $13 million for their first location, a 20,000-square-foot building that opened in January 2022. It is now investing a further $17 million in their second location citing a need to support further growth.

“This new facility will enable us to have our trucking, warehousing, outside storage and container storage depot in one location with the ability to expand our footprint and accommodate continued growth in the future,” Whiteriver Logisitics president Raj Sekhon said in a statement.

Whiteriver has been in operation in Manitoba for 15 years and in 2022 partnered with RoadStar Trucking, a family-owned and operated business based in Milton, Ont. The new CentrePort location will enable Whiteriver and RoadStar Trucking to co-locate both businesses on one site, the release said.

Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in spring 2024 and it is anticipated that it will be operational in late 2024 or early 2025.
