On this episode of The Construction Record Podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey speaks with Nicholas Tountas, a trades advocate and sheet metal worker who is also a YouTuber with a cooking show aimed at the construction industry.
Tountas said he began his YouTube channel after seeing Ontario premier Doug Ford appear on an online cooking program as part of his reelection campaign and decided to record his own videos where he made meals while talking about the trades, with a slow but steady build in viewers.
Tountas also reached out to Skills Ontario and from there began working with KickAssCareers to further advocate for trades careers with a specific focus on speaking to youth about potential careers in the construction industry.
