Work continues on the addition and renovation to the Birchmount Community Centre on Birchmount Road in Toronto.

Torcom Construction Inc. is the general contractor and the work includes construction of a double gymnasium addition with two basketball courts, an administrative office area for staff, storage rooms, change and washrooms, mechanical and electrical service rooms, a multipurpose room and an enclosed link walkway above the front entry of the existing community centre. The owner is the City of Toronto — Purchasing & Materials Management. The project was designed by CS&P Architects Inc. The structural consultant is RJC Ltd. and the mechanical and electrical consultant is Smith + Andersen. The major trades are Van Mechanical Contractors Inc., Platinum Electrical Contractors Inc., Mirage Steel Limited and Bernel Masonry Limited.
