Ford, Mulroney join Tory for announcement

Green Impact, PCL partner on Calgary ethanol project
Green Impact Partners unveiled a partnership this morning with Carbon Clean Energy and PCL Constructors to develop a large-scale bio-fuel facility to be located in Calgary. Once operational, the project is expected to be carbon negative and will produce over 300-million litres of ethanol annually, up to 2.5-million Btu of renewable natural gas and 2.3-million tonnes of carbon offset credits. A final investment decision to proceed to construction is expected later this year or early 2022.
New sports centre for Sorel-Tracy
The governments of Canada and Quebec announced yesterday they are contributing $10 million each for the construction of a new sports complex in Sorel-Tracy, Que. The facility will include two swimming pools with bleachers, an indoor water games area, sauna and offices.
Appraisers elect Pouliot new president
The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) yesterday announced the election of Andre Pouliot of Halifax as the association’s national president for 2021-2022. Pouliot was formally inducted during the AIC’s 2021 annual meeting held virtually on June 11. The new president has 20 years of commercial real estate valuation and property tax experience and is a past president of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Appraisers Association.
Mattamy buys in west Tuscon
Toronto-based Mattamy Homes, North America’s largest privately-owned homebuilder, has announced it closed on a land purchase in the Westside area of Tucson, Ariz. The 27-acre property, purchased for US$2.44 million, will contain 105 home sites.
