Federal leaders visit Western Canada
The federal party leaders have embarked on day six of the federal election campaign. The Canadian Press says Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole will be making an announcement at a transport company in Winnipeg and later attending an event at a saloon in Saskatoon; Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau will be in Winnipeg making an announcement on safe return to work and school; and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will visit the gravesite at Cowessess First Nation, Sask. and later a local business in Regina.
Home prices moderate nationally
Statistics Canada reports today that new home prices in Canada grew at their slowest pace since December 2020 in July. Nationally, new home prices were up 0.4 per cent month over month. Prices in Toronto rose 0.2 per cent and 0.3 per cent in Vancouver. Prices grow the most in Oshawa, Ont. (up 4.3 per cent).
OCS to hold AGM in Niagara-on-the-Lake
The Ontario Construction Secretariat has announced it will hold its AGM and Conference Oct. 6 and 7 at Queen’s Landing in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Speakers and details are to be confirmed. Registration is now open.
MYCRANE offers global crane rentals
Global business platform MYCRANE has launched a new digital crane-rental service. The platform allows users to submit details of their lifting requirements and then access quotes from a range of registered crane providers. The platform is suitable for cranes between six and 750 tonnes capacity with current availability of crawler, mobile and tower cranes.
