Mississauga hosts affordable housing information session

MISSISSAUGA — The City of Mississauga has announced it will be holding a public meeting to present an overview of its proposed Affordable Rental Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and seek feedback.

The meeting will be held May 21 at 6 p.m. at the council chambers, 300 Civic Centre Dr.

If approved, the plan will offer grants and financial incentives for a variety of rental units, from larger-scale apartment buildings to additional residential units such as garden suites and basement apartments, stated a release.

The CIP will be funded, in part, through funds received from the federal Housing Accelerator Fund. In December 2023, the federal government announced a $112.9 million agreement under the fund.

The meeting will also be presented via livestream on the City’s website.
