OTTAWA — June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, which is a time to recognize the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
That history, resilience and diversity is becoming ever more present in the world of construction as more Indigenous firms and projects take shape across the country with designs deliberately made to honour Indigenous culture.
Consultation and relationship building, while still a work in progress, is occurring and now more than ever unity needs to be at the forefront.
The Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce are celebrating National Indigenous History Month with a look at some articles we’ve done that celebrate the projects while also examining the issues of importance to Indigenous people.
