The Churchill Corp. of Calgary has a new chief executive officer, Douglas J. Haughey. Churchill operates general contractor Stuart Olson Dominion Construction Ltd., plus subsidiaries including Canem Systems, Laird Electric Inc., Insulation Holdings Inc. and Broda Construction Inc.
The appointment of Haughey comes two months after Churchill announced that Stuart Olson Dominion’s president, Don Pearson, is retiring at the end of the year.
The announcement came the day after Churchill reported a loss of $4.2 million during the three months ending June 30.
On July 31, Churchill appointed David LeMay as president and acting CEO, replacing James Houck.
LeMay retains the title of president and is now the firm’s chief operating officer.
Haughey was president and CEO of natural gas firm Provident Energy Ltd. from April 2010 until March 2012, when it was acquired by Pembina Pipeline Corp. of Calgary. He has also been president of the western Canadian natural gas processing and pipeline business of Spectra Energy Corp. of Houston.
