Construction is progressing at the Humber College Welcome Centre at 2 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Dr. Toronto, Ont.
The owner is Humber College and PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is the design-builder. The new three-storey facility will house student services including registration, career services, student life, health and counselling services, a test centre, a multi-faith centre and the campus’s Aboriginal Resource Centre. The project is designed to meet LEED Silver certification. The architect is Moriyama & Teshima Architects and project management is Turner and Townsend. Consultants are: Stephenson Engineering (structural) and Hidi Rae Consulting Engineers (mech/elec). Subtrades include: Structform (formwork); Harris Rebar; Innocon Inc. (concrete); Sprint Mechanical and Metric Electric.
