UNIplex community hub opens in New Brunswick

DIEPPE, N.B. — The City of Dieppe, New Brunswick, recently celebrated the virtual official opening for the UNIplex, a multifunctional community facility serving users of all ages.

The facility is located at 450 Collège St. and includes an indoor walking track, kitchen, community rooms, two NHL regulation ice surfaces and an intergenerational greenhouse.

The UNIplex was funded with $31 million by the provincial, federal and municipal governments and the community. Its name underscores the contribution of $1 million from UNI Financial Cooperation to the fundraising campaign, indicates a release.

“An intergenerational community complex like the UNIplex is an important project for the residents of the Dieppe/Moncton region which supports our government’s priority to build healthy and sustainable communities,” said Gary Crossman, the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation, in a statement. “The Government of New Brunswick is pleased to have partnered in this project by providing $7 million through the Regional Development Corporation.”
