TORONTO — A date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Danniel William Milton, 42, who was hit by a vehicle while working at a highway construction project in Renfrew County, Ont. in April 2016.
Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, regional supervising coroner for East Region, Ottawa Office recently announced the inquest will begin Sept. 17 at 9 a.m.
The inquest, which is mandatory under the Coroners Act, is expected to last three days and will include testimony from approximately nine witnesses, states a release issued by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
It will examine the events surrounding Milton’s death.
The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest will take place at the Renfrew Municipal Building, 127 Raglan St. S. Dr. Robert Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner and Jeffery Richardson will be counsel to the coroner.
