MetriCan Stamping Corp., an Ontario company that provides services to the automotive and household appliances industry, plans to build a plant in Tennessee this year, state and county officials report.
“The Chamber of Commerce is excited MetriCan Stamping has selected Dickson County for their first U.S. manufacturing operation,” said David Hamilton, president of the county’s Chamber of Commerce.
“We look forward to working with MetriCan officials in growing their business in the U.S. creating additional jobs for our community.”
Company officials said MetriCan, based in Oakville, Ont., plans to have the 55,000-square-foot plant built by June and employ 50 people at first.
It also plans to expand the facility up to 150,000 square feet within the next five years and add another 150 jobs.
