Consulting engineers from across the province were among those singled out for recognition at the recent Order of Honour Awards gala sponsored by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
The awards pay tribute to individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the engineering profession.
The rank of member, that achieved by the four consulting engineers, is bestowed upon those who have served the profession by contributing to its operation or improvement in its status.
In the winner’s circle this year are:
— Etobicoke engineer Richard Weldon, vice-president of Carson Dunlop Weldon & Associates Ltd. PEO said Weldon has exemplified significant commitment to the profession through his involvement in the Etobicoke chapter and other association activities.
— Sudbury engineer Anthony Cecutti, senior engineer, Earth Tech (Canada) Inc. PEO said Cecutti has pursued his goal of a strong chapter system through service to the Sudbury chapter, his local community and on PEO council and committees.
— Toronto engineer Carolyn Adams, project manager at Marshall Macklin Monaghan. PEO said Adams has supported women in the engineering profession for more than a decade through her committed involvement in PEO committees and in the wider community.
— Windsor engineer Michael Mastronardi, office manager, Earth Tech (Canada) Inc. PEO said Mastronardi has been an “inspiring example” of dedicated service to the profession and area youth through his work with the association’s Windsor-Essex chapter.
— North Bay engineer David Richards, manager of Northland Engineering (1987) Ltd. PEO said Richards, a member of its North Bay chapter, has played a leading role in promoting the engineering profession in his community and improving the quality of engineering education.
