The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) has announced the winners of the eighth annual National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships presented last week.

The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) has announced the winners of the eighth annual National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships presented last week.
Winner of the Gold Award for Project Financing was the Completion of Highway 30 in the Montreal Area, partnership of Ministère des Transports du Québec, Agence des Partenariats Public-Privé du Québec and Nouvelle Autoroute 30, S.E.N.C.
The Silver Award for Project Financing was presented to the Northwest Anthony Henday Drive DBFO Project, (Alberta), partnership of The Government of Alberta, Alberta Infrastructure and Bilfinger Berger Project Investments Inc.
Three Silver Awards for Infrastructure were also presented.
•A Silver Award for Infrastructure was presented to the William R. Bennett Bridge Project, (British Columbia), partnership of SNC-Lavalin Inc. and the BC Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure.
•A Silver Award for Infrastructure went to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, (British Columbia), partnership of Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre Inc. and AHA Access Health Abbotsford Ltd.
•A Silver Award for Infrastructure went to The Trans-Canada Highway Project, (New Brunswick), partnership of the Trans-Canada Highway Corporation and Brun-Way Construction Inc.
A Silver Award for Service Delivery and an Award of Merit for Social Infrastructure Procurement were also handed out.
The Silver Award for Service Delivery went to 407 ETR — Growth of a P3, (Ontario), partnership of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and 407 ETR Concession Company Limited
The Award of Merit for Social Infrastructure Procurement was presented to the Alberta Schools Alternative Procurement (ASAP) Project, partnership of The Government of Alberta, Ministries of Infrastructure, Education, Finance, Justice and Treasury Board and BBPP Alberta Schools Inc.
The 2008 Champion Award was presented to the Hon. Gordon Campbell, Premier of British Columbia. Premier Campbell is the ninth recipient of the Champion Award.
Previous recipients have included: Hon. Donald S. Macdonald, former Canadian minister of finance and former Chairman, CCPPP; the Hon. H. Michael Wilson, Canadian Ambassador to the U.S.; Gary Collins, former Minister of Finance (BC); Pierre Le François, former Board Director, CCPPP; the late James MacLaren, former Chairman and CEO of Lavalin-MacLaren Engineers; Mac Carson, founding member of The CCPPP Board; Glenna Carr, former Board Member and President, CCPPP; the late Chuck Wills, former City Manager of Windsor and Board Member, CCPPP.
Premier Campbell will also become the honourary chair of The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships.

The awards were held in conjunction with the annual CCPPP National Conference on Public-Private Partnerships.
The Canadian Council National Awards for Public-Private Partnerships were established in 1998 to honour governments and/or public institutions and their private sector partners who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in the establishment of public-private partnerships, which benefit the public interest in infrastructure projects or service delivery.
