Work is moving above grade on the Burlington Performing Arts Centre in Burlington, Ont. General contractor Bird Construction Co. and MHPM Project Managers Inc. have completion of the LEED-designed project scheduled for July 2011.
The work includes a main stage theatre, a studio theatre, atrium space, an event patio and a six-storey fly tower.
The owner is the City of Burlington and the architect is Diamond and Schmitt Architects Inc.
Consultants are: Halcrow Yolles (structural); Crossey Engineering Ltd. (mechanical/electrical); Enermodal Engineering Ltd. (sustainable design); and Valdor Engineering Ltd. (civil).
