North American design firm Stantec has signed a letter of intent to acquire QuadraTec Inc., a 50-person consulting company located in St. John’s, N.L.
Incorporated in 1993, QuadraTec is one of Atlantic Canada’s leading mechanical and electrical engineering firms. The addition of QuadraTec will further strengthen Stantec’s presence in the Newfoundland and Labrador market.
“Newfoundland and Labrador has seen significant growth in the demand for its natural resources, which in turn has provided opportunities for investments in upgrading much of the province’s infrastructure, such as in the healthcare and education sectors,” said Bob Gomes. Stantec president and chief executive officer.
Stantec provides professional consulting services in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management and project economics for infrastructure and facilities projects. It operates out of more than 150 locations in North America.
