TORONTO
Tonbridge Power Inc. said construction on its MATL transmission line between Alberta and Montana has been halted due to a dispute with the contractor responsible for engineering, procurement and construction.
The Toronto-based company did not provide details about the nature of its dispute. It did say the company is working to resume construction as soon as possible in order to deliver an operating transmission line by late this year.
In a separate development related to the MATL project, Tonbridge said it has won a legal victory related to negotiations with landowners on the route of the line.
Tonbridge said a recent Montana Supreme Court ruling has cleared up some uncertainty about the state law regarding right of way when negotiations fail.
