The Rainbow Hospital Partnership of Montreal-based SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) has been awarded a contract by the New Brunswick government that includes design, construction, commissioning, financing and certain operation and maintenance functions of the Restigouche Hospital Centre for psychiatric care in Campbellton. Bird Construction Inc. will design and build the facility.
SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) of Montreal announced Tuesday its Rainbow Hospital Partnership has been awarded a contract by the New Brunswick government that includes design and construction of the Restigouche Hospital Centre for psychiatric care in Campbellton.
Rainbow Hospital Partnership is wholly-owned by SNC-Lavalin. The contract includes commissioning, financing and certain operation and maintenance functions of the hospital, the firm stated in a press release. The press release did not include the cost of the contract for the hospital, will be built in a joint venture with Bird Construction Inc. of Toronto.
In a separate press release, Bird stated one of its subsidiaries executed a design and construction contract with Rainbow Hospital Partnership, and construction is expected to start immediately. The project is scheduled for completion in 2014.
Restigouche Hospital Centre will be designed to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver specifications. It will have 140 beds in seven in-patient units, and facilities for education and research, clinical support, and administration and general support services. It will also serve as the forensic psychiatry facility for the province.
