A construction worker was killed Tuesday while working at a mushroom farm near the community of Campbellville in Milton, Ontario, about 60 kilometres west of downtown Toronto. The Ministry Of Labour and the Collision Reconstruction Unit of Halton Regional Police are both conducting investigations. He was employed by Kitchener-based E&E Seegmiller, working on a Ball Construction project.

A construction worker was killed Tuesday while working at a mushroom farm in Milton, Ontario, about 60 kilometres west of downtown Toronto.
At approximately 2:45 p.m. emergency services were called to Monaghan Mushrooms Limited at 7345 Guelph Line about five kilometers south of Highway 401 to reports of a construction worker being struck by a piece of farm equipment at the site. The site is south of the unincorporated community of Campbellville in the Town of Milton.
Responders found the worker had sustained obvious fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The deceased exited the project through an opening in the fence line and walked onto a private lane on the Monaghan Mushrooms property. The worker was struck by a front-end loader, which was owned by Monaghan Mushrooms and operated by a Monaghan Mushrooms employee,” explained Matt Blajer, spokesperson for the Ontario Ministry of Labour.
His name has yet to be released, pending notification of next of kin, but Halton Regional Police confirmed he is a 28-year-old Waterloo Region resident. He was employed by Kitchener-based E&E Seegmiller, working on a Ball Construction project.
The business was undergoing extensive construction at the time of the incident and a mixture of construction and agricultural workers were present. Two Ministry of Labour investigators attended the scene.
A Ministry of Labour issued an order to Monaghan Mushrooms not to disturb the scene.
The Ministry Of Labour and the Collision Reconstruction Unit of Halton Regional Police are both conducting investigations.
