The New Brunswick government recently announced that Springhill Construction Ltd. has started building the $10-million Lincoln Elementary Community School about halfway between Fredericton and Canadian Forces Base Gagetown.
The Kindergarten to Grade 5 school is being constructed on Highway 102, near the Saint John River, about five kilometers northwest of the Fredericton Airport.
The 40,048-square-foot school will include 12 classrooms, a music room, resource rooms, a gym, cafeteria, library and project work areas for students, according to a joint press release issued by the departments of Education and Early Childhood Development and Transportation and Infrastructure.
“Construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2013,” the province stated. “The old school was demolished at the current site in the summer of 2011.”
