A new agreement with Transport Canada that transfers administration and control of the Canso Causeway to the Nova Scotia government includes an investment of up to $9 million for rehabilitation of the infrastructure.
The agreement includes repairs to the swing bridge spanning the Canso Canal and will extend the bridge’s life by about 25 years.
