Construction on the new West Richmond Hill Pumping Station continues in Richmond Hill, Ont.
The general contractor is Kenaidan Contracting Ltd. and the work involves construction of a new pumping station building and associated disinfection building. The dual-zone water supply facility will have a total capacity of up to 85 ML/day and will pump water from Pressure District 6 to Pressure Districts 7 and 8 in Richmond Hill and nearby adjacent areas. The disinfection facility will use a combined chlorine gas and ammonia sulfate system to provide top-up disinfection to the reservoir feed. The existing reservoir and potable water service will remain operational during construction with the new station scheduled to be completed in February 2016.
