TORONTO — Turner & Townsend has announced it has been appointed by Li-Cycle to perform cost assurance services, including construction contractor invoice review and verification, relating to Li-Cycle’s Rochester Hub facility, located in New York state.
Turner & Townsend is a professional services company specializing in program management, project management, cost and commercial management and consulting across the real estate, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, with 118 offices in 50 countries.
Li-Cycle’s Rochester Hub will help position the company as a domestic supplier of battery-grade materials in the U.S. and North America, stated a release.
The facility is on track to be commissioned in 2023. It will have capacity to process 90,000 tonnes of lithium-ion battery equivalent feed.
“Facilities such as Li-Cycle’s Rochester Hub have an important role to play in the modernization and long-term sustainability of the automotive industry, as we move towards a net zero future,” stated Gerard McCabe, the firm’s managing director for Canada, in a statement.
