Planning begins for Estevan Regional Nursing Home replacement

Planning begins for Estevan Regional Nursing Home replacement

REGINA — With $1 million invested by the Government of Saskatchewan, early planning has begun for the Estevan Regional Nursing Home redevelopment project.

An assessment has already been completed which identified a need for 59 additional long-term care beds. Estevan nursing home’s number of beds will therefore be increased from 108 to 167 through the redevelopment, according to a news release.

A business case development is looking at location options, the scope of the building and land requirements, environmental and heritage considerations, traffic impacts, utility, zoning, drainage and geotechnical scanning.

The business case will also support fundraising efforts from the community, states the release.

After the business case is concluded, the project team will enter pre-design and design.
